Revolutionary Goans Party MLA Viresh Borkar and 28 others have been booked for allegedly stealing files and other items from the Goa Town and Country Planning Department office during a protest against Section 39A of the Town and Country Planning Act.
Goa's Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, recorded his statement to police regarding a protest march against a contentious land conversion provision, claiming the government is harassing protesters.
The lowest victory margin of 76 was recorded in St Andre constituency in North Goa, where Revolutionary Goans Party, a new political outfit in the state, made its debut by defeating BJP candidate and sitting MLA Francis Silveira. RGP candidate Viresh Borkar won the contest.
